I thought you might like the clothes dryer we have. I just turn the fan on and away we go. People that live in apartment building usually have a little clothes line hanging out their window. We do have a little back yard so in the summer this can go outside. Cool huh!

I found a waffle iron in Zagreb so now on Tues. evening I make waffles for any of the Spanish, English students that want one. It's been interesting to see their expressions.

Wed. I helped Darinka make a pot of Chili. She calls them spicy beans. A group of young adult guys came to the center so they had beans. They were quite the hit.

Tonight our time changes so we will be caught back up with all of you. We are doing fine. We've had a few challenges, but all is good. Hopefully we are legal for now. This last permit lasts six months so we should be safe and out of here by then. Can you believe how fast the time goes. Everytime I turn around it Sat. again.

Two weeks ago we started the week off with a Bar B Q in the Elders yard. The week before that we had a huge breakfast at our apt. Elder Scheoder decided to enjoy his last to P-days before going home. It's great to do special things with these missionaries.

Tues. we got our letter from the Police telling us we only had 10 days left in the country if we didn't get the proper papers turned in..(which our leaders in Germany don't want to give us thus far.) We can't worry about it...whatever happens..happens.

We found out that the activities committee head decided to cancel the Easter program..so Bro. Lukacek put something together for institute, so it was all good.

Fri. Gaylon and I took a bus to Zagreb to have lunch with a group of couples to tell the Lunts goodbye as their going home. Elder Lunt got a call from the notary to get us in there to get some paper work done. Just so happened we were on our way so the first thing we did was get our passports notarized so they could get them sent to the police. Good timing for us to be there. It was sure hard to say goodbye to the Lunts. They have really been our anchor. While in Zagreb we ran into this statue. We knew Gaylon was pretty famous in Varazdin...but to have a statue built in Zagreb was pretty cool.

The weekend was all about cooking and having the missionaries for Easter dinner.

It stated out looking like rain, but ended up a beautiful day.

We had a pretty normal week. English, Spanish, institute. It was pretty uneventful until we got to the end of the week and heard by the grapevine that the Easter program has been cancelled. Bless their little pea pick hearts.

Also in the middle of the week we got a new Elder. The new one came in so we had a quick transfer. Five elders in that little apt. You can't even imagine how small....like a studio.

Today Sat. we helped move the one set of Elders to their new apt. in Cakovec. Man, it's such a nice place...big and right in the middle of town. I took a few pictures of their castle area. Enjoy!

This week started with our District Meeting on Sunday so the missionaries could have a field trip on Mon. Gaylon and I stayed home to clean and get ready for the rest of the week.
Tues. was E. Estigarribia's birthday so after picking up the cake from our neighbor we had ordered, we met the missionaries for a surprise lunch together. He was surprised! From there we went back to the police dept. to get things turned in for our Visa's. They still want a work permit which is a new law, but the church isn't going to furnish them so we'll see what happens. After English and Spanish classes we had a little birthday party.

Wed. we met the Elders at the bus station and headed for Zagreb. The Lunts met us and gave us a ride to the hotel. We had a great visit with the other couples that stayed there with us before walking to the Steak House for dinner. After dinner in our rooms a lot of us felt a little tremor which was weird.

We had a great Zone Conf. Rumor has it since we are so large with the extra Serbian elders and couples the zone may be split into two. That will be sad for all of us. One of the Serbian couples went home and another was sent to Albania. Also we were told another couple headed our way was rerouted to Poland. Yea, Cami you're getting a couple. We came home by train and got home about 10pm after our 45 min. walk.

Fri. evening Pres. Weight and his wife, with the Lunts came to Varazdin. Later we had a ping pong tournament. We had about six attend other than the missionaries.

It's been a great week. The Lunts and Maloys are coming to speak at Sacrament tomorrow. Then we will feed them.

We are doing fine. A little rain has returned which is badly needed. The walking is great. We hope you all have a great week.

In Zagreb the cannon at the top of this tower goes off at 12 noon everyday.

Don't ever think we are going hungry. I think when Ned Jr. got home from his mission they called him Teddy Bear. Well, I will be Teddy Bear #2. This is the spread at Zone Conf.

The Elders love to come over and use our computer. Great guys. We are trying to secure them an apt. in Cakovec. We love our Missionaries.

Pay special attention to my wall paper that our Grandchildren provide for us. We get lots of fun comments.

Sister Prince and Sister Lunt found out that they are cousins. Fun ladies.

The Prince's are serving in Zadar by the sea and took us to Split. We love them to death. We plan to do some traveling when we are both home. Elder Prince has Gaylon doing his exercises.

The couple are the Brown's. serving in Rijeka at the sea. They are both teachers and he does CES. They will be a great addition to the mission.

Sister Denna is from Lake Tahoe now living in West Jordan. She is a special lady.

This is the Castle in the middle of you city. It was built in the 700's. There was a mote around it and then one around the town. We can't tell where the second mote was. It has been very well preserved. Varazdin didn't get hit by the war to much. We can see some bullet holes in buildings.

Another interesting week

We started off our week trying to get our visa's extended. We went Mon. and Tues. and it still hasn't happened. New rules as of the first. They say we need a workers permit from the church...and Germany says they won't issue any. Elder Lunt said we could be smuggled in the trunk of the cars around Croatia for the next few months. We may have to do a border run.

Wed. the Elders all went to Zagreb to listen to E. Wondra from the area Pres.cy about the Serbia deal....actually got no info. We will be getting word by the end of the week.

Thurs. the Lunt's came and got our car. A foot again. The weather has been beautiful so that's ok.

Fri. the word has come from the First Pres'cy...Our Elder Collier is being sent to Germany English speaking. About half the elders are being sent out. Lots back to the states. Some were just in tears. Really to bad. We got another Elder so we will still pursue opening Cakovec which will be good.

Sat. we went with the Elders to Cakovec and looked at a real nice apt. It is right in the middle of town and 20 min. walk from the train station. We had just got done and walking out when the wind picked up and it started pouring. I luckily had my coat on..we were being sheltered in this little arch way when the covering for the public phone on the wall got ripped off. Not knowing how long it would last we took off in it..only 5 min. and into a Pizzaria for lunch. I have to say I thought about Castellia and Chelsea and how they would have enjoyed the rain with me.
When we got done eating it was all over.
We got back to Varazdin and walked home. Just before getting home I asked how far we had walked....Gaylon figured 6-7 miles. Man I was glad I hadn't asked earlier. Our feet were feeling it.

Well live is wonderful. We have our new and larger district. More mouths to feed on Sunday's. The new Elders love Croatia. They say it is much prettier than Serbia and the buildings are much more preserved. In Serbia they were pretty beaten up with the war. Also the people are more friendly here. All is well.
